patch phrase

can some one tell me how to patch phrase by steps if possable on mpc 1000.

if youre asking the steps to patch phrase a sample.....

mode... trim.. slice.. select # of regions... do it..
(f4) convert will swap btween patched phrase and sliced sample

if "patch phrase by step" is some advanced type of patch phrasing then i dunno.

ill teach u pp sense everyone else thinks its a pointless feature...ok we sampled a 4 bar loop but its totally off sync with the track ur currently using and u dont trust akai bpm detector because i dont. so were not gonna use that bpm detector..instead were gonna use mathmatics to get the accurate bpm.. the original bpm is very important for pp.. go ahead and loop 4 bars of ur sample or 1 bar

go down to "To find the bpm of a loop when its length in samples is known" and set that up. next ur gonna have to drop 16 slices and find all the downbeats add a slice marker there...now convert to pp and use the bpm that the calculator generated.. and there u go u have a dead on accurate loop..i use this pp for arpigios shit is sick for making them 303 sounds

but if you take a melody that is say 95 bpm and chop it and stretch it down to 85 bpm it will sound robotic as hell.

i just like to chop my stuff up small and play it in however.

patchphrase can have its uses, here and there. but not very often, imo.
