i seen some SCSI /USB converters will that work with my classic?so i can get sound direct from my laptop?

USB to SCSI will not work from your laptop to your MPC. The MPC doesnt have the drivers needed to perform that task. Just sample into the mpc since it is a sampler if not just buy a External SCSI card reader to transfer sounds back and forth.
