EQUIPMENT ADVICE

IM A NEWBIE ON THE BOARD AND ID APPRECIATE ANYONES HELP.

CURRENTLY I HAVE AN MPC2000-STOCK

A TASCAM TM1000 MIXER

A NEWMARK MIXER FOR MY TURNTABLE

TASCAM CD BURNER

ANYHOW, I WANT TO BUY SOME SOFTWARE TO GO DIGITAL AND UPGRADE. THIS IS MY WANT LIST:

1)KEYBOARD AND/OR SYNTHESIZER (ANY SUGGESTIONS?) I WANT A KEYBOARD MAINLY FOR BASS SOUNDS OR BASSLINES AND TO PLAY MY OWN NOTES. SOMEONE TOLD ME THE MICROKORG WAS GOOD.

2)I WANT A NEW MPC BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THE 2000 JUST WONT CUT IT-SHOULD I BELIEVE THE HYPE?

3)SOFTWARE-I WANT TO GET INTO PROTOOLS BECAUSE IT SEEMS THAT ITS STANDARD, BUT IF ANYONE ELSE CAN SHOW ME ANOTHER WAY TO GO THEN PLEASE DO SO.

ALSO, CONSIDERING WHAT I HAVE RIGHT NOW, WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST FOR ME?

the microkorg is real dope but i would suggest doing some homework on some other synth's (micron, ion, novation, etc) its not multi timbre and thats the only problem. but the bass is really BEASTY

who ever said the 2g aint cutting it must really not be on they sh!t. there are newer and better mpc's, but the 2g is far from obsolete. you might wanna invest on some upgrades (memory, 8outs, efx board) . as far as
getting a new mpc its all in what u want out of it. what features are u lookin for?

as far as software protools is that sh!t. but there's other programs u can use. i nuendo which is pretty good. im not familiar first hand with protools so theres only so much i can say.

get u some good speakers

word, 2k is an ill machine, like guy above said look for some upgrades

not a bad idea. But don't do something cuz its standard.
