MPC-500 or MPC-1000

Hi guys this is my first post, but I've been lurking around for a while. The question is: Should I go with the 1000 or 500? I know the 1k is better but I only have about 800$. If I buy a used 500 for 600$ i'll have some money to spare to put into a mic or keyboard. Is the 1k worth the extra few hundred?

Oh yea. This will be my first MPC.

Take a look around the for sale section of the forums. Ive seen a ton of 1k's go for 600 or less. Unless of course you want the 500 then go for it.

I use the 1000, and while I haven't tried the 500, I would say that I would definitely miss the extra pads, there's 4 less on the 500. I'd also miss the ability to have a harddrive installed. And the display on the 500 looks very small...

If you think about it, it may better to buy the 1000 even though it's more expensive, because in the long run, you will probably buy one anyway. So that means the price of the 500 + the 1000. Hehe.

Personally I'd skip both the 500 and 1000 and go for an MPC with full size pads.
