electronic drum machines

whats up

was thinking of getting an electonic drum machine to go hand in hand with the MPC, my mates got a MC909 cant stretch to that, used to have a TR 606 but was tricky to sync so wanted to see what experience you geeza's had if any?

I have found that alot of older drum machines want to be the MIDI master. I had a MC-303 that I had to use the iunternal clock on and set my MPC2000 clasic up for external clock. I use the Korg MKII series grooveboxes now with my MPC. I have the ER-1 and the ES-1 .. really fun stuff.

I got rid of the MC-303 since the step seq in it was to hard to do on the fly and the muting of parts sucked. I also got rid of it since its sampled based and replaced it with the Korg ER-1 MKII. this box only has 2 samples on it [Clap, Crash] and all the other 8 sounds you can create from modulating and shaping wave forms. you can get some really cool 808 and 909 sounds here by hand and tweak them. I would never part with mine..
