Looking for some good guides...

Whats up guys. I've been looking around these forums looking for the best guides possible, just so I can do some reading and figure out which equipment suits me the best...

I've done alot of reading on http://www.tweakheadz.com. This site has probably the best guides ive ever read... They're very easy to understand, very descript, and he breaks things down in great detail. Problem is, this guy "Tweak" seems kinda biased towards software editing. Does anybody know if there are any good sites that give more of a description on the world of HARDWARE editing? ie MPC's... Samplers... and things of that sort?

I really have nothing against the software guys out there, but I think that I'd prefer to be more hands-on... and any additional information I can get would be helpful at this point.

any way you could go to the nearest store and check out the gear?? my intelligent side says that, althoug i got a mpc and triton on the fly cos im like that...
i used to own a mpc 1k and they are nice to run, i now use the 2kxl through personal choice, but the 1k's are going for chips so too are the 2k

any your mates got a mpc or workstation or software,?

I use mpc and triton but also use plug ins as well as they have lush pads and great bass sounds

i think id prefer to go 100% hardware... except for like the FINAL touches... tweaking the eq and stuff like that. it seems alot more efficient to do all the mastering on the computer, as opposed to having one of those big eq boards right? but i dont see myself mastering any tracks anytime soon... so im not even too concerned about that right now. i definatly like the idea of sampling. i think i can do some crazy things with that

mastering? i think you mean mixing down.
sounds like you need to just spend some time experimenting with different gear, don't read too much!!
