I sampled some strings and played out a groove with it. I layed the kicks and snares on a seperate track. When I play them together they cancel out. like the strings disappear and come in and out intermittently.
Seems like the MPC 1000 wont let me play the drums and the strings at the same time. If I mute a track, the other plays fine. If I solo the track that track plays without problem. But if I play both together, the string gets shut down intermittently. This seems to happen with base samples as well.
but funny thing is, if i sample a loop and chop it up, even if its a complex loop with lots of strings and basses i can layer a beat over it without any cancellation of one track over the other.
I'm wondering if this has to do with the fact that my string sample is a single one shot sound or something? any kind of settings i need to change?
