I've never owned one before, but right now Im trying to look for a 2500 and I've seen some for really cheap prices, as low as 70 bucks....Would it be a good idea to get one from ebay without getting screwed over or anything like that?

Most likely if it's cheap, it's broken, so don't expect not to put anything in afterwards. Say if you buy 1k unit, I'm sure the pads won't be working as new, unless you purchase a brand new unit with warranty.

I'd say it's a good idea, I had overall great experiences with eBay. One time I got screwed, but filed a complaint with PayPal and eBay and got my money back after a month. Purchasing samples is also good I'd say, just make sure you get it from someone who deals with it and has something of higher quality.

Cheers and happy eBayin'

lol.. don't even waste your internet going on ebay trying to find a 2500 for $7. You are just setting yourself up to fail. Since your in NY you should be able to find a shop there.

Ebay is good as long as you look at who you're buying from. Check they're feedback and what not and decent 2500s will run you at least 1300 at the least on ebay. Another option if you don't want to spend too much is to pick up the 1000 and buy the new os from jj which gives it a lot of editing options and what not that the 2500 has. But good luck on your hunt.

E-bay can be a wonderful tool....not only did my MPC come from e-bay but I've also bought a pair of 02r mixers and a bunch of other stuff. Research sellers and what you are buying though - all deals on e-bay are not good deals.

On a side note, I also buy sell and trade vintage guitars on e-bay and elsewhere - I started with $500 and in about 5 years have turned it into a really nice collection. theres probably about 8k in guitars now off the original $500 + maybe another $500 in shipping and fees....
