another getting started question: why .snd file format?

if the 4000 can playback wav files - why is there the .snd file format? i searched in every 4000 pdf document for "SND" and got 0 instances found. The douments searched were: user guide, ref manual, all addendums and misc pdf's

in the 2k/xl i think you have different editing options for the 2 different formats... probably same for the 4k...

The other way around....SND file format stores more information than a simple WAV file. See

for compatibility purpose. some ppl want/need to import their older .snd and .pgm
