Just wondering if any one out there who has this sampler would be kind enough to send me a floppy with that OS. I have 1.50 or something and would like to try MESA but I have XP which doesn't allow you to write the disc because you need to be in MS-DOS mode which XP won't do. So....if you have an s3000xl or can write me a disc, I'll gladly pay any shipping and would be extremely thankful.

for free here : http://www.akaipro.com/archive_os/S3xlv2.zip

just put a blank floppy in your drive. execute the exe from the above archive.
then your done.

put the floppy in the S3000xl, boot it and enjoy your 2.0 os ;)

If your computer can boot from a floppy drive then you can make the boot disk on your PC.

You will need three floppy disks to do this. One for the DOS image, one to hold the Akai OS EXE and one to make the Akai Boot Disk.

1) Unzip and copy the Akai OS exe to a floppy disk.

2) Download a DOS OS from http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm and install onto the second floppy disk.

3) Go into your computers BIOS and change the boot order to boot from a floppy disk.

4) Put the DOS OS disk into the floppy drive and boot the computer.

5) The computer will boot into a command line mode. Take out the DOS OS disk and put the disk in with the Akai OS in it.

6) Run the EXE with the Akai OS file.

7) When prompted, take out the OS disk and put the third floppy in and it will create the boot disk for the sampler.
