just bought an MPC 1000....help

just bought an MPC 1000....help

hi i recently got an MPC 1000 of of ebay...and it works fine. one thing i need to know is what do i use to get the sound out of it...becuase it has a headphone jack but the jack is way too big for my headphones. im wondering what i need like speaker wise and stuff like that. im new to this..so if u could tell me what equipment i need to make this work that would be great

Pretty much u need an 1/8 to 1/4 adapter.

An Excerpt for another one of my posts.......


Learn all the aspects of your equipment(functions, connection ports, ect)and what their purpose and functions are(there are tons of resources and dictonaries online).

Here are some terms that you need to know immediately(this is just an idea... there are tons more.... when you come across a new one, look it up).

Sampling
Quantization
MIDI
Swing
Compression
Time Stretching
Equalization(EQ)
Panning
Metronome

These are techniques used in producing and recording music. Once you start making music on your equipment then you'll see these terms(and more)more often.......

thanks alot i appreciate the manual cuz mine didnt come with one. one more question...when i try to record, i press the record button and the light doesnt stay on it just blinks once and doesnt start recording...maybe this is just a stupid question lol idk but am i not hitting something before hand or what?

hold record and press play while holding record. then you'll hear the metronome count down. you basically get a one bar count before it starts to record.
