Hi I keep seeing that the MPC is stated as a hip hop tool. Is this the only type of music that can be created with it?

I like uptempo house beats at about 124bpm. Can an MPC be used for creating beats at this speed?

Thanks

the mpc is just the canvas .. you put whatever color you want on it.

So what can I do?

Load my own beats in and use the pads to create a pattern?
Can you also add a track for bass with your other drum tracks.

I,m looking at the mpc1000 because of its small size and being portable is a good feature. But if it lacks the functionality that I need the I will have to buy the 2500 nstead.

I need something that I can make my loops up in and then export them into pro tools.

You can do whatever. ^^^^Sinister_keys.

I mostly do drum and bass loops and funk stuff for live work but when we go into the studio, it's straight out of the box into cubase...

you can pretty much do anything with the MPC1000 that the 2500 can do in terms of music creation.....

was just about to say the same thing, buying a 2500 will not open up an options that are worth the price difference really
