MPC 1000 Direct recording?

I have a question...

I have a MPC 1000 with JJ os installed. I'm wondering if there is any way to direct record sounds from my Korg Micro X to the box during sequence mode. Currently I have midi connectings running back and forthe between keyboard and MPC, but the thing I don't like about just recording midi data is sometimes I want to revisit old projects and I forget which multi mode i used on the keyboard and which sounds like bass or strings I had linked up to the midi.

I want to be able to record my sounds directly from audio outs of the keyboard into the mpc using the swing and quantization of the mpc sequencer. I've tried to record into the record mode but the timing is off and can't be corrected by the quantize feature. I suppose I can chop it up and manually timestretch it, but is there another way?

I've tried using the mpc just for the drums and adding the keyboard tracks to protools, but I feel like it interferes with my workflow. I like just building up track by track stright into the mpc and then using protools to finalize.

Is there another way to just add sounds from the keyboard, layering it up just as I would sounds from the mpc? besides using midi. I'm really not a big fan of midi, or perhaps I've just not learned to appreciate the power of it. Any suggestions?

I thought it might be that audio track/truck feature...perhaps not, maybe someone can shine some light?

use the audio clips. that is how you are going to record while the sequence is playing.

Couldn't you use a patch change/bank change message at the start of the song so that regardless of what patch the keyboard is on it will switch to the one you want? I don't know how you would do this with your gear but it's just a thought...

Of course that wouldn't do any recording of audio for you that would just remember the patches you used...
