i-tunes files dont even open up in any media playing software i use. i never seen any mpc loading a .m4a or a realplayer format

I think this to be a true statement.

you may have to do a conversion first.

Thanks, i downloaded a converter and jus converted the files.. now they can load in the 1k but I dont see it letting me assighn the sample to pads...I can play it in the load screen but cant asighn it.

after you load all the samples you want into your mpcs ram. hit [mode] & [program]pad7?... you can assign them there.

or you can use a program like bluebox on your pc to make .pgm files

That's why you read the manual.
