1/4" to RCA?

Exactly what cables to I need to plug my MPC500 to my audio interface? The MPC500 has two 1/4" jacks for each channel, the audio interface has two RCA jacks.

I've been looking through various stores, but haven't found any cables converting from 2x 1/4" to 2x RCA.

Could somebody help me out a bit? I'd appreciate it a lot .

I tried searching, but I just got thousands of unrelated hits.

If you really can't find what you need, you might consider getting RCA to RCA cables, plus some ¼" to RCA adaptors as shown below.

hosa makes cheap rca to ts 1/4" snakes. 8x channel and theyre cheap. i got a couple extra if you need shout.

dont waste extra money on trs vs ts since its just going to an rca youll only get two conductors out of the final point anyway

unless youre gonna go one trs out of your headphone output to two rcas.

You do know that the two RCA jacks in your soundcard are most probably Line Out and Line In, do you? So you only need to connect your MPC to one of those.

My audio interface has two (three?) line inputs, and three (four?) line outputs.

Got two of those 1/4" to RCA adapters, works great! But why did they go with the 1/4" jacks from beginning? What's the advantage of those instead of RCA? I'm new to all this!

¼" Jacks are pretty standard for musical instruments.

The RCAs are generally for HiFi and DJ equipment. But their paths often cross.

Ok then, just wanted to make sure you don't blow your soundcard or
sumthing.

The 1/4" jacks on the MPC are usually balanced, which means less noise
with very (I mean very) long cables. But you need an also balanced
other side to make use of it. I think you can't make balanced RCA jacks.

try googling for the tweakheadz website. i'm pretty sure they have a page on cables which explains all the types and advantages of each kind.

not sure about other models, but on the 1000, the inputs are balanced (for recording) but all the outputs are unbalanced (for playback).
