Question.(s) I have a beat on the mpc.. whats the next step?

Been tryin to figure this out for a year now..

Trying to make this simple to understand. I have a beat, lets say its finished. I use the mpc2000xl.. I want the beat to be a mp3 or a wav file lets say.

how do i do this????????

I basically have always pressed record on a sound program on my computer, then pressed play on the mpc, .. so the sounds streamed into the sound program on the computer to 'record' my shit. the results are horrible. the beats always sound so much better when theyre playin out the mpc .. but after i "record" them they sound like crap when i play back the "file" ..

my budget is unlimited and i need to start doin this shit correct. what do i need to cop? a recorder? a mixer?

how the **** does a 'pro' record a beat from a mpc2000xl?????????

That's basically the way to do it. Just make sure your levels are set right on the soundcard, neither too loud nor too low. Your input is probably too loud so it's clipping, that makes it sound horrible. You can set the input levels in the soundcard's mixer.

doesnt really sound horrible.. sounds fine actually.. but it just doesnt sound as clear as it does when its playing out the mpc... I really think this is not the way to do it.. but thanks for the response..

isnt there a more proper way to record a beat?
