would i be able to seq sounds with the mpc when hooked up to a motif xs????????

If you are asking if u can still sequence in your XL while a keyboard is connected via MIDI then your answer is yes. You could use the mpc as the master and board as the slave or visa versa. I highly recommend the MPC as the master though.
