Sup everybody... I'm a newbie at production and Ive been searching around the site for answers on my situation. I recently played with a MPC 2500 at GC and loved how simple and quick it was to lay down nice drum patterns. Love the swing of the sequencer too. I currently have Reason and recycle and soundforge. I don't like all the effort u have to put into reason to get decent sounds so I'd rather use my collection of EMU software instruments that I have.. I have EMU Proteux X2, Mo Phatt X, EMU Street Kits, EMU Protean Drums X, PlanetEarth X, EMU Vintage X Pro Volumes 1-3. This comes up to a total of about 25 gigs in vintage sounds that are supposed to sound like their old EMU Rack counterparts. The Proteus says it has standalone mode and VST mode. Does anyone know if theres a sound difference between the EMU hardware and software sound modules? Anyway. I saw in a tutorial that you could sequence your computer instruments within a MPC. I really like these sounds and also the sequencing of the MPC. Do you guys think this combination would work well together? Or should I just get somethin like cubase se?
