Question, hopefully getting answers to it

I wanna start , so i wasn't sure what i should use to start either a mpc 1000 that ive havin my eyes on or an mpc 2500, but i was mostly thinkin the 1000 cause its cheaper

if u can help me at that would be great thnx i'm out

the 1000 is the better choice for starting largely because of its price. if you decide that the mpc isnt for you, you can easily sell the 1000. while the 2500 is probably worth buying, reselling it will be a pain because most people dont want to spend that kind of money on a drum machine/sampler.

the 1000 is fairly easy to learn and use, and is portable. if you can, stop by a local GC and play around with the machines there. try em out for yourself..

^^^good advice...a story I can relate to, one of my boys been making beats on FL for few years now. after messing with mpc at my pad decided to get his own, now it's sitting there collecting dust.

unless money isnt issue and you've worked with mpc before and enjoy making music on it. go for used 2500.

both are good units tho, can't go wrong with either one.

from what i understand, they improved the pads on the newer black models.. if you are concerned with the pads then get a new blk 1000, and not a used one.

things always faile even on new stuff, new stuff just means you have 12 months to take it back then they try to fob you off by reconditioning (always get a new one again).

Check Antonym if ur that worried he is putting the R an D into the pads and i hope he makes a nice profit aswell (though i know this is not his intention-- i think hehehe)

the pads are easy to install yourself, and arent that expensive. if you think about it, eventually any mpc will need a tune up after extensive period of usage, and it's not only pads that can fail but buttons, knobs, sliders or any other mechanical part of the unit. for example most common failure in older mpcs like 2000 was the screen. once replaced you're good for another god knows how long. if i was to get 1k, I'd definately get the black one since they fairly new, so I wouldnt worry about the pads whether the unit is new or used. unless it was abused.

If your just startn out make sure you research what your buying. I'd go software if your on a budget. Reason or Fruity Loops, but if you got the money to splurge go with the 1000, cop the e-book, check out www.tweakheadz.com (read The Guide), and get your learn on.
