Tracking Question

As it is best to track individual tracks at a time into a DAW how can you do this whilst keeping all tracks, tracked seperately, in sync with each other.
I understand this probably has to do with Sync'ing the DAW and MPC together but what settings would be needed and how would you go about the actual tracking process?

I use Cubase SX and have my MPC sync'd so that i can play my MPC and cause my DAW to play in sync. However i cannot record in my DAW or play anything as when sync'd it just does nothing. I need to be able to press record in my DAW and for it to play my MPC so that i can record its input and do this for each track so that they are all sync'd together.
I think that is what i need, i just do not know what settings are required.

Thanks Nicole. I wasn't exactly looking for tutorial on how to sync to Cubase, but thanks to your 2 links I found a nice video on sidechaining compression.
I keep on clicking on them, you never know what else you can find.
