is there a physical line in connector on the pc?

you may need to enable it if so, simpley double click the 'speaker' icon in the system tray, then click 'Options' then 'Properties' and check that 'Line in' has a tick by it.

Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Volume Control.

Once in that screen go to Options>Properties. You should be able to find your LINE IN options on there.

Let me know how it goes.

Also could u take a picture of your soundcard cause u might not have a LINE IN it could be a MIC IN. But most cards do come wit a LINE IN.

OK i'll be more specific... My sound card.. is a C-media professionnal something, It has 6 holes witch are Line in, Mic in, rear spkr, back spkr, front spkr, bass spkr.

I went thousands of times in my sound control propreties where we can see playback AND record, but in my choices I dont have Line in to check.. I only have Line in in record, In playback I only have 4 or 5 choices (not sure what they are I am in a class right now) but no Line In...

Do you get my prob !!? I dont have the budget for a mixer right now so i want to use My pc mixer for now, but I cant even manage to do it :(

Thansk for trying to help! keep em' coming if you can!

Why do you think LINE IN should be in playback controls?

it can be in both, when it's in playback, it merely allows you to adjust the monitoring level of the line in.

Ok.

Only thing I can think of is that some of those onboard soundcards need something to be plugged in to the jacks at boot time to be activated. Maybe that's the issue.
