Will they leave me out to dry??

If I decide to make an investment into a machine thats been discontinued like the 2000xl, and run into an issue from a faulty pad or just an entire system malfunction, will Akai help a dude out or will I be left fending for myself, basically having money thrown down the drain and be forced to buy a whole new drummachine??

You can always get replacement parts from www.vstservice.com and www.mpc-stuff.com Also keep in mind when u buy a item that has been discontinued u shouldnt expect to get any Technical assistance for that item from the manufacture thats part of discontinuing the item. If u need help search around the boards. Cause pretty much everything has been asked around here.

What I like about gear like the mpc and sl1200's is that it's fairly easy to do some repairs yourself. So far I didn't have to repair stuff but I've put in a card reader and the eb fx board.

If it's discontinued, then the manufacturer will not support it.

Your left with other repair options.
