What do I need to record a band?

My friends have an electronic drum set, guitar, and bass. I want to record them playing on my computer. I don't have money to buy equipment so I want to rent something that will allow me record their performances into my computer. I only have a soundblaster card.

What should I rent?

If your computer has Firewire, get a Presonus Firestudio. 8 preamps standardd let you record 8 channels at the same time. Cubase LE comes with it as well, should be efficient enough for you to do what you're looking for. I can't think of anything else cheaper that offers what the Firestudio has for your purpose.

Dont expect to rent somin u never used / done before and breeze through recordin finishin with a top notch demo or album or some sh!t..

Ur lucky ur friends got an electric drum kit as well, because ud never stand a chance mic'n up a real drum kit and recordin

I'm not trying to make a sweet demo to send to the labels. Its me and my friends man, just trying to do something as cheaply as possible.

And it would probably only take me a week to learn then I have like 3 weeks to record.

Just looking for simple answers, not people telling me I'm not a pro.
