When i track from the mpc my mixes always seem lower then pro mixes... every time i listen to my beat compared to a pro's.. mine sounds alot lower... is there anything im doing wrong... Im recording into the daw at around -9 db to prevent clipping... even if the beat is clipping it still sounds very low..

-9db for the final mix??

thats where alot of the mixing/mastering of your beats can come into play....you can use compression and EQ to give your beats alot more headroom as well as punch or in this case alot more "umph" like the beats you are comparing yours 2....

try and make sure things are level and blend real nice, this way you can get ya beats juiced up with out clipping...you can always make it "sound" louder without it actually "being" louder.....

learn technics on mixing homie, it will help you loads down the road....
