I've been a DJ for 10 years and am extremely anxious to begin making my own beats for live and studio application. I see all my influences using a variety of MPC's, but am unsure which model is best for me as a beginner. Obviously, if I'm gonna drop the money I want to get something that will satisfy me for a long while. So do I save up the extra for the 2500? or will the cheaper 500 or 1000 satisfy my wants and needs?
My needs:
I've been a crate digger for years and am looking for something that can easily sample and create loops on the fly. I want to be able to remix originals by means of sampling as well as utilize the pad as an electronic drum kit as you often see demonstrated by Cut Chemist, DJ Shadow, Numark and many others.
Beyond studio production I'm looking for a nice addition to my turntables to spice up tracks with samples, recorded acapellas and live pad drum play.
Please help, I'm reading all the technical jargon on each, but I want advice from other like minded individuals actually using the gear in this manner.
Thanks.
