BIG MPC decision to make and could use some expert advice!

Hey, I am an aspiring producer (Hiphop) and have been using a Roland Fantom X6 for about a year now, but have recently been looking a MPCs. Would an MPC really help me make better tracks? If so, there are a few options I have: an MPC1000 (for about $1000) + JJ, MPC2500 (about $1500) + JJ, or the MPC 3000 (used for $1700) + any OS suggestions(?). I'm not sure what to get, but the store clerks keep on pushing the 2500. So I turn to the forum for some expert advice/suggestions. Hope you guys could help me with my decision!

well what else do you have in your setup? i dont see why you would need a 2500 when you could rock the 1000 with the jj os and get by just as easy.

as far as it making your tracks better, that will depend on how you use it.

Just try them all out at the local gear shop near you and then ask questions based on what your seeing. ull get some decent feedback here fersure. Its all up to what you feel comfortable making beats on. There is no machine that will make your beats better in whole. But to be honest you cant really go wrong with the 1k besides the pads and some other minor things. Ide take some time and just read up on each of them individually. good luck

yea what he said pretty much, depends on how much guap u willing to put up.

and if it will make your production better, well put it like this, if you are more comfortable when u get an mpc, yea it will feel better for you, and your tracks might turn out better.

Any mpc I say this assuming the sampler section of the X6 is similar to roland's sp606. If this is the case I find any mpc to be a much better sampler sequencer than roland's low end samplers....just my 2 cents

yea im not droppin that on a 3000, but thats pretty much what they going for..

I love my X6...wouldn't trade for anything! I got the MPC to add to my set up, but if I had to choose one it'd be the Fantom just because of how much more you can accomplish inside of one box. That's just me though...I like creating both sample-based and original tracks.

The main reason for me getting the MPC was to help me be more progressive and expressive with my drum programming. On top of that, I've grown to appreciate it more and more due to the 8 outs, midi control, harddrive, etc. In the end, they make a good team!

Something to consider: if you got used to the sample editing functions in the Fantom, you're gonna be disappointed once you get the MPC (whichever one you get). It's just more user-friendly and logically designed in the Fantom, but you just get used to it.
