MPD or MPC for my situation

MPD or MPC for my situation

Hi there,

I do not want to exhaust the question of "What do I get?", but I am confused on what would work best for me. Basically if I were to get an MPC I would get 2500 no doubt, (once the money is here lol).
But I was thinking and I use my computer when creating beats a lot. Specifically with programs like Reason and Live. Could I get the same use out
of a MPD controller with the programs I use or can use? Or should I just stick it out with the MPC? Also what about pad feel on these controllers? The only reason I ask is because of the savings, but I do not want to compromise quality and features just because of money. w

So in a nutshell......MPD with my computer programs or MPC????

well u can use either a 2500 or a MPD with your computer programs

what u should consider is

1. Price (MPD' are cheaper)
2. And if u want a standalone machine with more sampling capabilities (MPC)

Sorry, had to throw that in there. But ONLY you can tell yourself what's best for you. Meaning you need to know your own situation before you come to a conclusion, know something about the gear your interested in using and don't short change yourself by just skipping ahead and asking "what to get" know the gear and what it can do then the answer will appear to you outta thin air.

If your going to race, get a sports car.

If your going to get groceries get a neon. :? 8)

Oooh controversial. I know a lot of heads that would say that the computer has much more sampling capabilities.

Anyway, I'm just being cheeky. Like lampdog said, only you know what you need to make beats. If you are happy with the way you are working I would say get the MPD, but if you want a new way of working (and a cool new box to boot), get the MPC. If nothing else, they hold their value better thatn computers! :lol:

I definitely do like working with the equipment on my computer but after taking your guys advice and reading deeper on the specs as well as reviews I think the pure fact of having the mpc as a standalone unit is worth it. I did not
realize the first time around that with the mpc I really could do it all from there which is great for quick ideas and such. I definitely will keep using my computer sequencer programs and vst's, etc. to expand and with mpc also. Thanks again for all of your input! :D

I think just having the beast of an mpc at my hands is worth it anyhow. It truly is a beautiful machine. :lol:
