im a "newbie" so bare with me if this question is at all primitive(stupid)

Okay, i keep on hearin about ppl buyin mpc 500 or 1000 and den using it in slave mode with dere DAW (reason or logic or wuteva)...........WHUT IS SLAVE MODE!! if its wut im thinkin (were u just use the pads to trigger sounds in the DAW) then y not jus save a few bills and buy an mpd. can someone explain the advanteges over jus using the mpc or using ur daw and a midi controller to make beats rather than using an mpc in "slave mode"

and on that topic i keep on saying these setups on youtube with and mpc and protools ........how exactly do dese work together, again wuts the advantage ova jus using the mpc to lay down ur beats

Slave mode means that you sync your mpc to the daw. When you press play in the program (cubase), the sequence in the mpc automatically starts to play as well. It is often used when tracking out the audio from the mpc into your computer.
