Ok i have some bad news. Reason is a self contained system. It has no way of sending midi information out per'se
Ok what you can do is write a midi part in reason. Then select export midi file.
This will generate a midi file for the selected midi data. Then you will need to load this file on to the MPC smart disk.
You should then be able to load this up from the mpc. However you will need to select sounds that the midi data will play.
To be honest this has very limited use in reality. Partly due to the fact that the mpc cant play transposed notes from midi.
But almost entirely due to the fact that reason is totally crap!
Firstly reason has terrible sound quality. Where as the MPC has excellent sound quality.
To be honest the best bet for you would be to throw reason away(or sell it on ebay, not that i condone this kind of thing, as some other luckless noobie is gonna be wasting his time instead of you)
And buy a copy of cubase SE. I would say MBOX but...you already have an interface.
If you are using mac then you would be better off still with logic express.
However you dont actually need any of that. Your best bet would be to just use the mpc. And then you can connect any sound modules you have to that.
Also the Mpc has the best sequencer you can even get. Its just you have to get use to not looking at the pretty little bars. I find an MPC sequencer far easier to use.
And i write whole songs with bridges, verse, chorus etc. Ask any member of this forum about my music and i think they will all agree, Its not to be taken lightly.
Ok sorry forgot myplace. Ahh yes. So you should use the mpc and buy a cheap sound module that will do everything reason will do.
Thats true. Using the mpc to sequence and resample the parts is far more powerful then reason.
If you do decide on a sequencer for what ever reason
you would still be better off learning how to use the mpc sequencer then the software.
As it will give you much sharper timing.
