I am trying to sequence a beat from the Triton in the MPC2500. Once the beat is sequenced in the MPC I then want to track it into Sonar. I am having two problems with this, but first let me explain how I have it set up.
>Triton midi in to MPC midi out A.
>MPC midi in 1 to Triton midi out.
>Triton main out 1/4 audio cables to soundcard in.
>MPC midi/sync mode: Sync out:A (master) Send MMC:on.
>Each track on MPC is set to type MIDI. Track 1 MIDI 1A, track 2 MIDI 2A,and so on.
>Triton MIDI clock is set to External MIDI. Then it is put into sequencer mode.
If local control is turned off on the Triton , midi track 1 on the MPC plays the instrument from the Triton like I would think it should. If I turn the MPC to midi track 2 it plays the same thing exept in the instrument that is on track 2 of the Triton. If local control is turned on it plays the entire beat on each midi channel. Obviously I am over looking somthing.
My second question is once I finally have the beat sequenced on the MPC, I would like to track it, track by track into sonar. I have successfully synced my MPC to sonar by itself, but when I add the Triton to the equation I get messed up. Would I hook up midi out b from the MPC into midi in on the soundcard, and midi in 2 of the MPC to midi out on the soundcard. Then in the MPC midi sync mode select Sync in :2 (Slave), recieve MMC on, for the daw to be able to tell the MPC when to start playing? Because when Sync in is not off the MPC will not play when I push start. I appologize if the questions are a bit long. Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.
