buying my first mpc

I've been making or at least assisting in making beats for a while now. I've brought samples and ideas to a friend of a friend's studio and have been helping make the beat. (telling them how to do the drums and bassline) They use a mpc 2000xl. Now i want my own equipment but have never used a mpc by myself. I want a 4000 but have heard that people w/the 2000/2500 have had a hard time "learning" the new machine. Is the 4000 that hard that I have to master the 2500 first? Or should I be able to learn the 4000 eventually, and just get the 4000? I'm a straight NOOB so take it easy on me. Goodlooking in advance..

if the 4000 is what you want get it..why buy a mpc to learn then buy another?? why not just go straight for it and learn it all but thats if you have the cash..

Yea I don't think buying an mpc with the intentions of just buying another makes very much sense....Unless maybe you had a 4000 and wanted to buy a 1000 or 500 for portability purposes then ok I could understand that...

But if in the end you want to be sitting behind the 4000 well save the cash and just purchase the 4000 right off the bat...maybe it will take longer or is harder to get the hang of, but if thats what you want in the end then just buy it and take ya time with the learning curves....
