MPC as synth module?

Hi, just purchased (but not yet recieved) an MPC500, and thinking about using it to sample a couple of octaves of my korg MS-20 synth so that i could play MS-20 bass lines live from the MPC (with midi keyboard) and not trash my vintage synth. Does anybody use their MPC in this way? Is it a good way to work?

only you can answer that question. i'd worry less about what others do and worry more on what's better for you and your work flow... why don't you incorporate both pieces of equipment? use the korg to play out the bassline and then sequence everything in the MPC... usually, there are a few ways to do a certain task; you just have to find out which way is best for you...
