Hey all! I just bought my 1000 last week. Im wondering if i can do a one shot loop and have it loop after pressing the pad once then stop looping when i press it a second time, if i cant get it to turn off on the second press that is ok its the one shot loop thats important. This is a long shot but i need it to work like that, otherwise ill be holding down the button for half a song which makes it hard to play the other elements properly...

I'm going to move this to getting started.

why?

Because in one week judging from your ? i feel you'll not have gone through the manual enough to understand your mpc's functions and of course not have used your imagination to combine it's features to get what you want. Yes it can do exactly what you wish, many people have powered through this same problem, searching might have given you some answers as well. Maybe in your manual look for something along the lines of note on, note off. Maybe think about linking your initial pad to a pad with no sound. I'd like to get you to think instead of giving you an answer straight out.

rubiks cube was the shiznit.

Thanks Lampdog, i did do many searches and have read the manual (quick and detailed versions) are you sure you arent thinking of the JJ OS coz i cant find anything about note off or linking pads. Incase you are wondering its 2 am and im racking my brain trying to figure out what you mean... any help you can give would be greatly appreciated, cheers dude!

I've read the answer you need many times here on the forums but I don't have a 1k. I remember reading it from Antonym and a few others. IF I find the thread I'll link it, in the meantime, pm Antonym, I'm sure he won't mind helping.

it's not in the manual, i just looked because i wanted to know about pad linking. I just searched for "pad linking" and it didn't turn up anything helpful. so if you could either post a link or how to do it, i'd appreciate it.
