this is my first official post; my "new" baby (mpc 2000xl mcd) will be arriving on Friday, but I'm already feelin' like posting.
As far as software compatibility goes, I'm not sure how the MPC handles under different programs. ProTools gets recommended first because it's been accepted as the industry "standard," but there are many other options out there that are equally flexible.
I'm sure I'll be fooling around a lot with transferring sound files to and from the MPC through Propellerhead's Reason (i'm on a mac, too), so I'll get back to you when I've figured it out...
