Need an ill synth

I just got my mpc 1000 from a friend, but have know idea what program I should be using to record my shit on, or what a good synthesizer is for sounds. ANy suggestions?

I also need to know what chords/how to connect a synth to the mpc.

hmm, don't you think you should maybe first learn to use your MPC right, before thinking about additional gear? Yes, it CAN be used without a recording interface, software, Triton and ASR alongside it...

you need midi cables to connect the synth to the mpc and you'll need a 1/4" cable(s) to run the audio outs into something so you can hear the synth.
