Very New to the whole MPC thing!

I am new to the whole MPC concept. I am looking to create drum beats mostly. I am not making rap beats so sampling isnt my concern. I just need to make on point drum beats. My question is can the MPC do this.
-Are there realistic drum sounds pre loaded into the MPC?
-Which is the best buy (MPC500 or MPC1000)?

Also if I am going to use this for sequencing, is it really neccessary to get the yamaha es6 over the mo6?

If you want realistic drumsounds id recommend a real sampler, cause the mpc is kinda limited for layering/multisamples (although it works with the JJ OS, a dedicated unit will give you more options and a better workflow for this.

But does the MPC 1000 have drum kits pre loaded or do you have to sample the sounds from somewhere else?

Dunno bout the 1000 but I with my xl I got a cd with a load of drumkits.

Don't think they're very good though. I use a few of them for layering but I always sample drums from vinyl aswell.

The mpc is no drummachine, you can wipe it completely clean and fill it with every sounds you want.
Bought it used, it came with a cf card with the factory soundset. They are ok but probably not what you are looking for. If you can do it with software i would check NI Battery, comes with good sets.

the mpc is not preloaded with sounds. its not a module its a sampler/sequencer. you'll need your own sounds
