m-audio firewire 410 recording with microphone

does anyone know how to make the m-audio fire wire 410 record stuff from a microphone?

i have it hooked up to my turntable and mixer, and i can record samples throu my daw fine (i use acid pro 5), but when i try and record through a microphone like to make my own samples or whatever, it doesnt show up, ive tried plugging it into the ffron two, where in the manual it says "instruments go" and that didnt work, and ive pushed most of those buttons in the front to maybe randomly stumble on how to record it, but that didnt work either, i read the manual and it isnt that much help, this is my first firewire interface so im kinda new to using it, any help would be greatly appreciated.
