TRANSFERRING FROM MPC TO COMPUTER

WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME. I WANT TO TRANSFER A BEAT FROM MY MPC TO MY COMPUTER BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO IT. I HAVE AN IMAC IF THAT MAKES ANY DIFFERENCE BUT THEY ARENT IN WAV FORMAT MP3 OR ANYTHING SO I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. IF ANYBODY KNOWS ANYTHING I CAN DO I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.

all you gotta do is track each track into your computer separatley using some type of sequencing software. Pro-tools,cubase, sonar...and so on. Solo one track at a time and send it to the input of your soundcard so you can record it.

Oh you meant a full beat? I threw down a response on my other post... but misunderstood a tad. Yeah I think you need to use some software, I havent transfered any full beats yet, just single files and samples...

You have the choice between a stereo signal or 4 mono outs. If you look at the back of your MPC you will see the main stereo outputs (two of them) and four (4) individual outputs labelled 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Straight stereo out is pretty simple, just connect your MPC to your computer audio card using the proper audio cable, most probably quarter inch (out of the MPC) to quarter inch (in the audio card.)

If you want to track the beat out (i.e. kick separate, hhats separate, snare separate, etc.) then you need to use the individual mono outputs, the ones labelled 1,2,3 and 4. You need to go into MODE + MIXER and assign the sounds to their respective output. Do you have the manual, it is explained in there. I don't have it with me so I cannot tell you which page right now.

you dont need anything crazy man. try some of the m-audio cards. i gotta delta 66 (4ins/out) and it's been flawless. u should be able to do a web search for prices. u seem resourcefull enough if u found this board. goodluck tho man...
