hello everyone,
i am new to these forums and new to the mpc. I have my turntable (technics) and mixer(vestax05) hookedup to my mpc 2000xl. The "outs" of the mixer goes into the recording "ins" of the mpc. When sampling i can hear the sample fine, but when i try to recording it, the sound never passes the threshold like it is supposed to. When i go into trim mode, i can hear the sample, but there is no sound wave, just a few dots that go horizontal across the screen. I do not know what i am doing wrong. Is there some setting that i am missing. Even when i try messing around with the trim settings, nothing is really happening. i have read the manual, and i still do not know whats going on. If someone can help me out, that would be great. Thanks

There must be something wrong with either your volume settings or your threshold settings.

* Check the volume on the mixer
* Check the rec volume on the mpc
* Check your threshold settings

How did you sample something if the sound never passes the threshold?

Seems like you're either sampling at a volume that's too low or too loud, if you don't see any waveform.

I have set the rec volume and mixer volume is set to medium. And yes i have played around with it, which it all does is adjust how loud i hear the sample. the threshold is set to -20, @ mid level. Yes, i find it weird too that i can hear the sample i just sampled, but no visible indication of a soundwave. Is there some way i can zoom in or out to adjust its visibility?... im really confused too.. maybe i just got a busted mpc, who knows. If anyone can help or has been through what i am going through, please it would be much appreciated!! thanks RECK for your help. i will see if playing around with the volume might make a difference.
