Just Got the 1000 Now Need MAJOR HELPP!!!

Whats Up Everyone i just got my mpc 1000 and wasnt reallly prepared..my big question is how do i get sound from this thing...what i want to do is hook it up to my comp so it will play sound...i dont want a mixer or anything iv found this...

it has the two 1/4 plugs and has the 1/8 plug for the audio on the comp...will this work???

If your computuer has a 1/8 audio line-in input, yes.

is that the standard input for speakers and stuff??

you're definitely not a dj-------look at your computer 1/8 in jacks- you definitely have an output (which won't work) look to see if you have an audio input 1/8 inch- if so then yes that rca to 1/8 in cable will work

Why doesn't anyone want to ready manuals these days. I cant recall if I came across it because I didnt have to go that basic but in most devices they have a template guide showing some of the various setups you can use.

What I can tell you though is if you don't have a line in input you can always subsitute with the mic input

so if i dont have a audio in the mpc sound will come threw the speakers if its plugged in thru the mic?

yeah go mpc stereo OUTS to your mic inputer jack on ur computer's soundcard... u might have to trigger something on your sound control pannel on ur comp if you dont hear anything right away

mic inputs are normally Pink on computer standard sound. incase u get lost

To access your controls you would want to click on the speaker icon in the control panel or on the taskbar. Then click on options and properties and select the recording option. In there you should see the possiblities. Whether you use mic in or line in. Depends on which work for you.

Sorry for the hi-jack but this seems solved. My problem is that when I hook my ish up to the computer I get a bunch of feedback noise and the samples are super distorted. Anyone experienced this problem.

I should add that the cables im using dont look like the ones pictured in this thread. They are dual 1/4 to 1/4 and Im using an adapter, but they still look different. Heres how they look. I guess they are dual RCA 1/4?



Yeah Ive checked, they are dual RCA 1/4 to a male 1/8.

^ maby volume is too high. maby your plugging the mpc to the mic input

shouldnt really be using a standard soundcard anyway
if youve got the money to buy an mpc you should problee get a decent card...

i see a lot of misinformation in this thread:

first we have three types of plug ends: RCA, 1/4" and 1/8".

pick the cable that connects the jacks on each piece of hardware.

the MPC does not have 1/8" or RCA outputs! so one end of the cable has to be 1/4".

a soundcard usually has a single stereo 1/8" input jack. so you'd need a cable with one stereo 1/8" plug end and where the other end is split into two mono 1/4" plugs. the cable in the photo of the 2nd post is ideal.

your soundcard may or may not have a line input but almost all will have a mic input. if you can, use a line input. the difference is the mic input will have an extra gain control, accessible from the sound control panel in your PC's operating system. basically that just means it will distort faster as you turn the input volume up in the PC....

probably why all your stuff sounds distorted knowtheobscure is because you have the volumes too high in the computer and on the MPC. also if the PC is connected to the input on the MPC you could be creating a feedback loop. just depends on your actual connections, and then the settings on each piece of hardware. the cable pictured in your post is a dual 1/4 to dual RCA.
