Hi everyone,

I'm planning on buying an mpc 2500 real soon and there's my dilemna:

I can get one brand newonline for 1290 euros (1890 dollars). If i pick it up in a local shop, it's going to cost 1590 euros (2330 dollars). The price difference is big enough for me to think twice about it.

What i'm concerned about is what could happen if i got some issues with the machine. In that case, i guess it would be more convenient if i bought the mpc in a local shop. But is that really worth the price difference (for the same price, i could get the mpc and a microkorg online)?

Thanks in advance for your advices and opinions.

I've had good luck bringing the oline price to my local store and asking them to beat it - they always do....and if you're in the states, you need to let them know that if you also don't pay sales tax for online purchases shipped from out of state...

thanks for the advice,
I'll try to talk down the price at the local store. I'm from France so the sales tax thing don't apply where i am.

Like the guy said....try negotiating with your local dealer. Play tough, walk in with some cash and make a a (decent) offer. If they know you have cash they will try to meet you half way.

If you can't get a price then I would consider on line.

In the end if you have a problem the unit will have to go back to Akai or a licensed repair company. If you buy local it doesn't mean that the problem will be fixed any sooner.

If you go local and there is a problem you might get some sympathy and maybe they will send the unit away for you. Is that worth Eu400?
