Beat on mpc to pc (mp3) need some help

Hey guys,

I'm new around here checked some topics but cant find my question..
( din't search tru the whole site... )

But anyways i just got my mpc like 4 days . made some
wack ass beginner beats hehe... was used to FL5, but already
like me mpc 1000 more than software beat progs.

But ok I finnaly made a decent beat that I want to put on my
pc but I dont know how to do that. From MPC to PC .. nothing
in the manual about it and nothing on that mpc faq site.

so is there a way to put em on pc with just an mpc and pc.
Or do i need a mixer with cables to my pc and a decent sound card?


and 1 more question: I now got my mpc whats best to buy now

a decent soundcard, turntable, mixer or name it.

I am fairly new around here and to the MPC as well. BUt I am gonna throw an IDEA out there for you... If you save the beat to the CF memory card and then pull it from there once you connect the MPC to your cpu... I may be wrong (I have had my MPC for 2 days).... I pay real close attention to post like these in hopes of actually learning somethin the manual does not cover in a language I understand.

This is a rocket science answer I'm gonna lay on you guys. Ever thought of using an instrument cable to carry the audio from the mpc to your sound card? Knowing a little something about you katz here, I'll throw this in as well. You will need an adapter to go along with the use of that 1/4 in. jack cable too.

Depends on which MPC you have. Also there are about 5 different ways to do this, here are a few though.


1. 2 track it.

If you have some sort of audio to digital box (like an mbox, firebox, m-audio 410) there is almost always some accompanying software that you can use to two track the beat into your computer

2. Use the Mic in of your computer to record it.

There is a program that is free called Audacity. You can use the Mic on of your computer to get the audio onto your computer. If you get a 1/4 inch stereo to 1/8 cable you can use the stereo L/R of your MPC to go into the mic in of your computer


3. Resample the audio into a .wav file.

If you go into mode - record in the mpc 1000 (again, I don' t know which one you have) you can set it to record the MAIN OUT instead of analog in. Then you just record your beat and save it to the CF card. From there you can either connect the USB of the mpc1k to your computer or use the CF card in your computer.


But again, it depends on which mpc you have.

I have Audacity, it came with my Numark USB Turntables to turn my Vinyl into MP3's... it works like a charm, I have never recorded voice from the mic input..... I guess the input vol is the only thing to really worry about.... Great Info guys......

Quik question since we are on the subject of this. I have a friend that has an MPC2K and is running Pro Tools.... (I am a total Noob to all of this), but he says he cannot run his MPC driectly into his PC with his setup... I was confused by this since I thought the PT setup allowed this. There is what appears to be an interface, but he says he cannot do it through the interface that came with the Pt's.... Is he wrong, or am I on to something or just on something? Thanx for any help you can provide....
