Im new and need help :)!

Hey everybody Im really new at all this MPC stuff and sampling and music production, but its something that has interested me for a long time and I finally have money for this kind of stuff. So I cant decide on whether to get the mpc 500 or 1000 (bet you've heard that one a billion times). I've heard the 1000 has a lot more features and is better I guess but i would have to spend practically all of my money for it and i don't know if i should by anything else to get started. I hope everyone can give me there opinions on what to get/do because I don't want to buy something thats limited and I just need help on getting started.

go to a store for few hours and spend some time with each unit and see how you like them...


I'd personally go for the 1000

between the two id say 1k hands down. the reason i say it is cause, to me the 500 is targeted for someone who needs something to travel around when they cant be at their studio. its really limited compared to the other ones. it will get the job done but the 1k is alot more expandable.

I think the 500 is a waste...I mean it's cool in theory but being realistic, unless you plan on traveling like daily the 500 serves no point...

Now what they should of done!

Is instead of just releasing the BLACK Version of the 1000 they should have made it be battery powered and never even released the 500....

a battery powered 1K? Put me down for one...

1000 used is same price as 500..
