help!!!whats best

Aiight i have to go on the road and all i do is produce...sampling and playing keyboards...don't need to record anybody or any instruments...now the question is i bought a mac pro, and i have logic 8 and want to know what is the best way to go about keyboard (midi/firewire/usb) and i use mpc4000 at my in home studio...so i would like the pad feel...so what about the mpd24...
just let me know how i should set up a mobile studio for production..with logic pro 8...and mac pro labtop...
