In this condition is there any benefit in a dat machine?

I have an mbox mini, an mpc 2500, a tascam 24 track 24 bit 44 khz recorder, and some hardware sound processers. I sequence on the mpc 2500, and track out and record into the tascam as separate tracks, or as a stereo track from the main out in the mpc. From there I export the tracks into the computer hard drive, and into pro tools at the 24 bit 44 khz settings. I then mix and edit, compress or whatever I choose to do to the tracks, and use a dither at 16 bit on the main out in pro tools, and bounce the tracks which were originally at 24 bit into one 16 bit stereo track. I then have a 16 bit track to burn on to a disk and play back in the car or home system. What I want to know is if there would be any benefit in me including a dat machine in my setup, and if there was, I wanted to know how I could use it in the signal chain.

I still have my original Tascam DA30, but I have no use for it being part of my signal chain. IMO it would degrade my recordings if I went that route. But then again I might use it for a particular purpose such as running a signal through the converters to achive some sort of sonic creativity. Otherwise it's only purpose is for loading material brought in that might happen to be on DAT.

Thank you, that helps. I do not think I will be needing a dat then. As far as sonic capabilities go, I bought an eps 16 + on ebay for sonic creativity as you can sample on there at lower bit rates and it is known to have synthesis capabilities. I have not figured out how flow on the machine yet though. I definently see the capability of sampling drums in the eps. I do not think I will be parting with it but will explore the old sampler's functions.
