i was wondering what im doing wrong when i try and bounce my midi from my mpc using logic 8.
so im connecting my outs on my mpc to the ins on (1 and 2) on my firewire 410 and i create a new audio track, and i put it in record ready.
and im doing each track seperate so i solo the midi track and record, it says its recording but no waveforms are being made on the audio track, just a strait line the whole way through, but the fader on the left is getting levels, there are two faders on the left and the one thats closest to the right is getting level, the one on the far left isnt.
then i play back the audio, and it is silent.
what am i doing wrong?
and i realize that seince im doing this for each seperate track (so i can record it into a multitrack later) that i will have to make multiple audio tracks, one for each midi track, then im gona burn them all to a dvd in the end and import it to this 36 channel peavy mixer.
but then i have another question, im gona make my drums mono, so they dont take up valuble space on the mixer, but my melody is gona be stereo because it is a stereo track i sampled but i also have some violins and voices (i chopped up from the melody but they only play sparsely throughout the song) should i make theese mono or stereo?
do you think it would make the song sound bad if those were mono and the melody stereo because it wouldent be fluid with the melody line? or should i just make them mono to save space?
also, im going to import the melody line 2 times into the radar becuase i dont have a bassline, so one of the melody lines (2 of the tracks) are going to be eq'd so the hi's and mids are cut out, and just the bass remains, do you think this will sound bad if the violins and voices that i have in transistions ( the ones that are use sparingly throughtout the beat) arent eq'd also or should i eq theese.
this brings up yet another question. should i just put the voices and violins into the same track as the meldoy line then eq the whole thing like that?
