My situation...

okay so basically. i just got the mpc 1000 like today.. im relativley new to music production.. been using fruity loops but i find i need to be more hands on...i worked for a while to save for this mpc... i figured id skip all the other drum machines out there and go strait for the big boy toys....so i have the mpc but because im so smart... i have no cables for it...i dont have a keyboard or turn table to hook it up to.. all i have is a computer...so id like to know wut cables i need to get up and running for this thing... please help

is it actually possible to run this machine off of nothing more then a usb cable for my computer the power plug and some head phones?

yeah so since i really have nothing on page 5 other than the mpc the computer and the head phones... im gonna take that as the only cables i need people are telling me i need midi cables but i have no idea y i would need them if i dont have a sound module or a keyboard

Why are you asking about cables when is it actually possible to run this machine off of nothing more then a usb cable for my computer the power plug and some head phones? and i dont have a sound module or a keyboard. I'm sure you've seen the block diagram by now, don't you know how to apply parts of the block diagram to your setup? Did the block diagram have a computer on it? What ws the cable that was used? Did you check that part out?

Not every part of the block diagram has to do with you maybe, apply it to your setup.
