I have a CD/RW on my MPC and when I go to load it says "CD/RW-Empty Disc" even when one is loaded(I tried many). It's like it's not reading it's on CD-ROM?? Is there a driver I need for it to recognize it?? I tried going to record from INTERNAL and it showed the CD player option but was all grayed out like the MPC wasn't reading it. I appreciate any advice.

Do you have your material written in "data" format?

I've tried data format, wav, CD's and everything....

Now I'm getting VERY angry because I went to take the CD ROM out to check the data cables and after unscrewing 20 screws I go to pull out the CD ROM but it won't come out because it's on a bracket with screws I can't get to so now I can't even take the CD ROM out without breaking the whole MPC down... Screw that, as much as I hate to I think I'm gonna send this back and get a 1000....Never had a problem with them.
Thanks anyway man

Yeah, sounds like your drive has gone bad. But honestly, it ain't difficult at all to replace the drive. I know you know how to do it 'cause you just explained it. Just a little patience goes a long way. But on the other hand it just as well could be the IDE connection to the drive needs to be reseated or something. Grab your cordless driver or drill, throw on a magnetic bit adapter and a phillips head and that's it. In less than 15 mins you can have that case open and checking sh!t out...just my O.
