MPC 2000XL to 4000 ???

how many have done this? Sold your 2k for the 4k? I Was thinking of sellin the 2k, stack up a little more $$, then purchase the 4k.. is it a good upgrade thats worth it?

I would say it depends on what you are going for in the machine cause the 4000 doesn't chop like the XL at all. But the sampler is better more warm soundin.

The ak.sys utility allows you to edit "off line" from the mpc but through any editor based program on your computer. The top photo shows the two 4k's connected to the pc. The pic on the top also shows the two machines in root platform w/ an adjacent view of the files & folders. I'm getting ready to experiment some with edits using kontakt 3. I've asked if anyone has tried this or is currently working a setup like this, but no ones come forward yet.
