I need advice...what MP to get :P lol

im new here and have been into the MP scene for a while cuz my mate had a 4000 at his studio and i got hooked to it...im looking for something i can move around (like cuz im at my shitty dads in the week and weekends with my mummy:P where i record etc) and im looking into gettin a 1000 (if my bid on ebay comes through oh a 2000xl) and i was wondering if the MPC500 was any good like can you chop samples on it? and if it had a USB connection cuz according to like 2 outta 5 site it does and i seen 1 pic with one...and i saw a site which didnt mention it:S

Yes the 500 can chop. Its numerical not waveform and yes it has usb. Maybe if you looked on akai's site...

it´s not autoshop or auto slicing(i hate that shit to death).you have to trim samples with your hands(and the jog wheell) and with no wave editting features(like an xl or acomputer).it´s hard at the begining but y´ll become used to it.the 500 it´s dope but i dont recommend it as you first mpc,cop a 1000 or xl instead.

500 is nice to take with you but I'd never get a 500 if that were to be my only mpc...

I'd get an xl, others would say a 1000 so like above choose between them two...

The 1000 will give you more features especially with the jj os...

MPC 2000XL WITH 8 ADDED OUTPUTS, AN INTERNAL EB16 EFFECTS PROCESSOR AND THE INTERNAL MEMORY IS UPGRADED TO THE MAXIMUM. ANYBODY LOOKING AT THIS EQUIPMENT WILL ALREADY KNOW WHAT IT IS CAPABLE OF. ITS IN GOOD CONDITION (A COUPLE OF MINOR SCRATCHES ON THE SIDE) AND IN EXCELLENT, FULLY WORKING ORDER. IT COMES WITH A USB ZIP DRIVE SO YOU CAN TRANSPORT SAMPLES FROM YOUR PC TO THE AKAI. I THINK I'VE GOT THE MANUALS (BUT NEED TO DIG THEM OUT). I'LL CHUCK IN SOME ZIP DISKS WITH SAMPLES ON.

What else do i need...i wanna get a turntable cuz i found plenty vinyls lastnight in my loft...but moniter wise/cables etc i got a small budget too

ultimately we cant tell you what you need, its only YOU that can tell yourself what you need, what YOU need to do is research find ones in your price range then come back and ask us for a comparison
if example what is your budget (sure you said its small but what exactly is small 1$ or 1000$.
2. have you looked at any monitors yet or turntables?
3. have you searched or checked the web or googled any of it??
